Durable yet surprisingly lightweight, this round dining table adds a more upscale look to a deck or patio than wooden furniture and is easier to move around. The table is designed with an ornamental scrolling vine motif in a dark-brown finish with bronze highlights and silver flecks. A 2-inch umbrella hole in the table's center gives the option of eating under protection from sun or rain, or al fresco in the sunshine or moonlight.
The table's open scroll design provides a smooth, even surface so dishes won't wobble off balance, and allows rain water to fall through and dry out. The slats are far enough apart to allow rain water to fall through and dry out and close enough together to provide an even surface so dishes won't tilt. Made of kapur, a sturdy Southeast Asian hardwood comparable to teak and with excellent weather-resistant properties, the table is light enough to move easily. And it requires no oiling unless to maintain a desired finish color. Left untreated, kapur will weather to a soft warm shade of gray similar to the weathering of teak. To prevent this weathering process, apply coats of teak oil. The frequency of necessary teak oil applications depends on the intensity of the outdoor elements. After kapur furniture has weathered, restore it to original condition by using teak cleaner and then applying teak oil to prevent more weathering. The coffee table's galvanized hardware is designed for rust-free performance.
