This is a Vintage 1940's Solid All Brass Baby Doll Bed which came out of a recent estate and it is in good looking and in good useable condition. When we purchased this the owner who happened to be about 6'4'' tall informed us that this was the bed which his mother used when he was a baby. It is made out of heavy brass unlike any made today, features solid brass wheel casters, screws, a great looking patina and is a rare one whether you use it for dolls, display and/or other creative purpose. It measures 16''x18''x30'' and weighs 32 pounds. A thin finish or coating will wear through quickly and age poorly with normal use. In contrast, our brass bed finishes. Our traditional high quality brass finishes consist of three basic processes. Natural brass is cleaned and lightly polished to remove any tiny imperfections and sealed with a low sheen lacquer. Polishing creates a bright high gloss finish using lacquer and polishing compounds. The third is antique brass, created by converting the surface of the brass with natural processes leaving a rich darkened patina.
